Day 1: Arrival Day – Entebbe 

Your guide will pick you up from Entebbe Airport to transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe to check in.

Here you will have a rest day and meet your yoga teachers and trip leader for a full briefing before your trip begins the next day.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park 

After your breakfast, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park, reaching in time to check in and relax before heading out for a sunset yoga session and a short evening game drive. This is a great place for meditation and finding your inner self.

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s best-known and biggest nature reserve. With the impressive and powerful Murchison Waterfalls and its remarkable animal populations, this is a must visit in the Pearl of Africa. There are superb activities on offer such as a boat safari or Delta safari on the Nile. The river divides the park between a Northern and Southern section as it makes its way through multiple rapids and waterfalls to Lake Albert.

Day 3: Explore Murchison Falls

Early morning yoga session, just in time for sunrise and before breakfast. Then after breakfast, heading out for a morning game drive, strategically as the animals are waking up. You may have a chance to see game like hyenas, giraffes, lions, birds, hartebeests, buffaloes, elephants, primates and others as well as different species of birds.

After the morning game drive, we will return to our accommodation for lunch before heading back out for an afternoon boat cruise and hike to the top of the most powerful waterfall in the world. On your boat cruise, you will see crocodiles, hippos, elephants and lots of birds. This section of river has the biggest concentration of crocodiles anywhere in the world. 

BALLOON EXCURSION (OPTIONAL EXTRA) $380 PER PERSON

 We can also arrange to watch wildlife in a hot air balloon instead of a car. Strategically fly over animals while taking amazing photos of the landscape, sunrise and wildlife. 

Day 4: Transfer to Fort Portal

We will sleep in and just relax for the morning. After a mid morning breakfast, we will set off for Fort Portal, reaching late afternoon for lunch.

Situated amid lush rolling hillsides swathed in near tea plantations and clouds permitting/offering excellent views across to the glacial peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains to the west, Fort portal is named after a British fortress constructed between 1891 and 1893, on the site of the town’s present day golf club, with the aim of protecting the Tooro Kingdom from guerrilla raids by King Kabalega of the greater Bunyoro Kingdom. Fort Gerry, as it was originally known, was named posthumously after the British consul general of Zanzibar Sir Gerald Portal. 

After lunch, we will check into our lodge and relax for the night.

Day 5: Fort Portal and crater lakes exploration

Hiking to see crater lakes, meditation, or chilling at the hotel and doing small treks around the village. The choice is yours!

Early morning sunrise yoga session then breakfast and then we will go checkout Bigodi Swamp to learn about the local culture, beer brewing and the amazing wildlife in this area.

Optional extra: Chimp trekking $150

For those feeling extra adventurous, you can choose to go chimp trekking in the lush Kibale Forest National Park where you can encounter our closest relative, the chimpanzees.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Early morning sunrise yoga session then breakfast and then we will begin our journey to Lake Bunyonyi. Reaching in time to check in and have lunch. We will then relax for the afternoon and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We can also have a session in the early evening overlooking the lake and the scattered islands.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi Sessions/Exploration

As dawn breaks, you will be woken up by the sound of birds chirping. An early morning yoga session is rewarding. Nothing beats the rolling hills and the islands at Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi means ‘the place of the little bird’s. You will encounter so many bird species like the African weaver bird, the grey crowned crane (Uganda’s national bird) among others.

We will have a relaxed afternoon just enjoying the scenery. However, there are optional activities like zip-lining, canoe trips on the lake and hiking. These can be arranged when you arrive in Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8:

Early morning yoga session to fully take in the magic of this place before breakfast. We will then begin slowly driving to Kampala reaching early evening in time to check into our hotel and have dinner.

Day 9: Kampala tour and activities

A morning yoga session before heading out for a walking tour exploring the magic in and around Kampala. An intimate and interactive safari activity. It is also very exciting and educational. You will get to see different aspects of Kampala, how history blends with todays life, the cultural diversity across the city, the people, how business is done, how people live and work and so much more. You might even learn some basic Luganda that could help you buy a thing or two from the market.

After our lovely walk throughout the city, we will have a lovely evening yoga session with African yoga project before heading back to the hotel.
